RV Does Snowfest Santa Clara
by Dewey on Nov.19, 2009, under News
Snowfest went to Santa Clara this past weekend and the RV was representing….
It was the inaugrial event for them in the South Bay and went head to head with Ski Dazzle…..from the looks of the crowds – Snowfest won. Lombardi Sports, Destinatin 1440and Porters were there in force slinging ’09 closeouts. At times the line to pay at Destination 1440 was over 1 hour long! Kirkwood was flying the banner (literally) signing up folks for passes and pimping the Progression programs….
Burton Rv Goes to Alcatraz, GGB And Sports Basement
by Dewey on Nov.13, 2009, under News
Stopped over at “The Rock” and Golden Gate Bridge on the way to Sports Basement’s Snowfest at their Presidio location. The crew at Sports Basement was pumped on the rig. The focus of the sale was definetly inside, but customers got a good gander at it as they went in – we had all the lights running and The B Movie blaring on the flat screen….. The sale was a bit slow for Hardgoods but plenty of peeps shopping and having a good time. Squaw valley is really brining people out of the woodwork with thier super inexpensive passes they sold this summer.. lots of people getting new gear because of it.
From Sports Basement we rolled the beast to Downtown SF! Not the easiest of feats but SFO was having their “Pray for Snow” party at 111 Minna and we wanted to represent. We couldn’t secure a parking permit so we lapped the venue about a million times.. so mamy people gawking! Drivin this thing in SF is like taking a test… Video to Follow..
Burton RV goes to Monterey Peninsula
by Dewey on Nov.13, 2009, under News
Had an evening clinic down in Monterey with On The Beach Surf Shop and an early afternoon clinic at the REI in Marina – they don’t get snow down there on the coast so I brought the RV! After the clinic I had the entire REI action-sports staff come in and check it out, they were pumped.Needed to burn off some fuel as this weekends event won’t allow me in with over 1/8th of a tank of gas (this thing either has the hugest gas tank ever or actually gets good mileage – used only just over a 1/4 of a tank going from SF to Monterey Peninsula and back!).
Kelly and the crew at OTB were super excited to see the rig…there were customers in the store when I pulled up that were blown away as they had passed me on the freeway a few hours earlier! Kelly took some pics and had the rig in front of his store on Facebook w/in minutes and people were hitting him up asking if Shaun White was in it…
Burton RV @ Snowfest FT. Mason San Francisco, CA
by Dewey on Nov.13, 2009, under News
The RV made it’s presence felt by industry folks during load in and by consumers throughtout the weekend. Most jaws were agape as they rounded the corner and got a look at the beast.
Attendance was up 20% the first day and haven’t heard about Sunday (seemed a bit slower)…Both Lombardi’s and Porters were slinging ’09 gear at 40%-50% off and people were buying.
We had myself, Ian, Dan, Sara, Jeff and Michele manning the RV and working the booths with Porters and Lombardi’s. Both stores were way up from last year and came stocked (no midnight runs to Tahoe for more gear this time – Chappy had 5 huge rental trucks stocked).
Saturday was Wine Tasting and Sunday was Brewery day. Crowd paid $20 to get in then another $20 for a glass to embibe. Judging by the swagger and slurring by 3pm both days plenty of people paid the extra $20…..drink ticket sales on Saturday were up 100% from last year.
Not much talk of Rocker as it was all ’09 gear. Plenty of Custom, Custom X, Feelgoods to go around.
Jager girls kept things flowing and kept stopping by the RV looking for Ian…
Next stop is Sports Basement Snowfest at the Presidio location on Thursday night followed immediatly by SFO Pray for Snow party at 111 Minna in SF that same night….keep on truckin’…..
