There was a HUGE turnout, great snow and legit features.  The RV was set up on the top, with snow videos playing on the outside plasma, stickers, posters, catalogs were being passed out and tech/stoke talk going on the entire time.   Having the capability of showing a snowboard video on the side of the RV is amazing!  It is an awesome site to see snow novices and beach goers react to the snowboard videos on the screen.  Many attendees were in awe about what snowboarding is about.  Although Spyder does not do a large snow business, they definitely did a great job of getting So Cal

people hyped on snow and allowed them to experience snowboarding first hand.  Hopefully this will be an event that other shops and cities will mimic in the future.

Last night the Big Dreams Nor Cal crew got wild for the first annual BURTON Ladies “night” at SPORTS BASEMENT Presidio in San Francisco.

True to form we rolled up to the event in style parking the Burton RV front and center. Sports Basement said no rules… so Hawk parked that puppy in the loading zone for all eyes to see. Movies and music on loop.

Inside we took a more feminine approach – pink cupcakes, wine, food, goodie bags, DJ, raffle, Northstar/Sierra season pass booth, KIND bar samples, Gravity women’s magazine, 10% off sale…
50 bay area ladies & a few brave men showed up to have a good time, shop, mingle and celebrate women in snowboarding! The first 40 ladies received a FREE lift ticket to Northstar/Sierra. The ladies were pumped!

I am very happy to announce that all the raffle donations went to Boarding For Breast Cancer Fundraiser – B4BC. We raised $250 cash from the raffle that will be donated to B4BC. Also 10% of sales from the evenings events will be donated from Sportsbasement to B4BC (still waiting on exact number) Dan & Hawk were diamonds in the rough amongst all the ladies last night. Just when I thought they had disappeared because they couldn’t handle anymore pink cupcakes – I found them deep in the hardgoods section selling ladies boards, boots & bindings. Stoked!

The highlight of the evening was partnering with the Northstar BURTON ACADEMY. They drove down from Tahoe to work one on one with the ladies. Demo boards, vew-do boards, jibs… etc – girls were strapping in and trying tricks on the carpet. We raffled off 1 free Northstar women’s camp & 1 free Northstar Burton Academy lesson. Girls were HYPED.

This past weekend Ski Pro of Arizona held their annual Pro Riders Sale.  Usually an event focused solely on selling product, last year they introduced the rail jam aspect, a move that will forever change the Pro Rider Sale.  For 2010, Ski Pro decided to take things to a whole new level of parking lot rail jams.  Add a beer garden, 80′s cover band Metal Head, a mini ramp, let the sun set and fire up the spot lights and you have the makings of a mega parking lot rail jam.  Close to 2000 people came out to see the action and funnel through the store, boosting sales to never before seen numbers at the Pro Riders Sale.  With an event like this showcasing the sport of snowboarding it is no wonder the employees and reps feel that the next move for Ski Pro is a name change to Snow Pro
